Adrian Bodomoiu, Wizrom Software: No company can afford not to act quickly to ensure the continuity of its operations
The coronavirus pandemic severely affected the global economy, and Romania has been no exception. The speed the virus has hit with many industries has been unprecedented, and in this new context, companies have come to understand that the only way they can survive the economic shock is through digitalisation. Today, digital transformation has become vital for almost every business, from industrial giants to small business enterprises. We are talking about the radical resettlement of the way we use technology, people and processes to maintain and develop businesses, according to Wizrom Software, one of the most important developers and integrators of business software in Romania.
Digital transformation is not easy to implement, especially for industries that, before the pandemic, did not place so much emphasis on digital tools. In order for the transition to be successful, in a company, it is necessary not only to identify and implement the most appropriate software. On the contrary, the key is to create a digital culture within organizations that prioritizes digital processes and helps employees adapt to change.
The digital transformation for companies in almost all industries – from automotive, to transportation, retail, HoReCa, pharma, telecom, banking, finance or manufacturing – has gained new connotations in recent months, both locally and internationally. More and more organizations have sought to implement true digital cultures and have invested in software that allows employees to work remotely, from anywhere, but also to stay in touch with customers, suppliers and partners and have, in anytime, updated reports of business operations.
“The business environment is still marked by uncertainties and changes, and managers constantly need answers to questions to increase the efficiency of internal processes. Today, no company in the world can afford not to act quickly to ensure the continuity of its operations, to make them more efficient and, last but not least, to keep its customers close “, explains Adrian Bodomoiu, General Manager of Wizrom Software.
Industries that have embraced digitalization, in the midst of a pandemic
In terms of the industries that have best adapted to digitalisation and the new economic climate, in the last six months of the year, the retail, HoReCa and eCommerce businesses have been the ones that have turned the engines to the maximum, changing almost completely. the business model, but also the work policies, trying to make its presence on the internet felt, more than ever, to constantly communicate and sell its products and services, underlines Adrian Bodomoiu. The restaurants that started to offer exclusively catering services, with the help of mobile food delivery applications, the big clothing brands, present in malls, with dozens of physical stores, communicated and marketed products exclusively online through eCommerce solutions and mobility – these industries were among the most digitized in the pandemic. The production, transport or financial companies also adapted, seeing digitalization as a solution for continuing operations, but also as a response to cost-efficiency problems.
“Many production companies have already started automating operations in the last two years. Those who had not yet done so realized that they had to embrace it as quickly as possible, especially in the new context “, adds Bodomoiu.
About digital transformation and the IT solutions that make it possible
Recently, the Romanian Government adopted a normative act that provides a budget of 150 million euros for the digitalization of SMEs. Basically, Romanian small and medium companies will be able to obtain funds for the acquisition of digital equipment and services, in the context in which Romania is not at all good in terms of digitalization (26th place in the EU – the penultimate place, according to the July report of the European Commission).
Bodomoiu believes that digital transformation is already recognized as an important support tool for organizations that want to be competitive in a challenging business environment. In particular, looking to the future, increasing operational efficiency and processes can accelerate the digital transformation of jobs.
“For companies in full development and digitalization, ERP will be an indispensable element. The benefits are many. An ERP involves the integration of the most important systems in a single IT platform, ensuring real-time access to all the data that a company’s employees need to work more efficiently and without interruption. Even if the implementation involves a certain investment, in the long run, reducing inefficient processes and errors, eliminating redundant data, automating processes and direct access to information are quite strong advantages to justify the decision, “says Adrian Bodomoiu.
More and more local companies are already implementing ERP software that simplifies the complex functions of business processes, integrates data, helps collaboration between departments and enables the management of finances and resources. “The businesses that have implemented these software have noticed an improvement in profitability, better management and a unified vision of businesses, and lately, they have enjoyed an increase in mobility due to the possibility of accessing them from remotely ”, specifies the General Manager of Wizrom Software.
