SoftServe: How AI is transforming the energy and manufacturing sectors

SoftServe, a digital engineering and technology services company specializing in AI, Data, and Cloud solutions, is showcasing a series of projects that demonstrate how AI and digital twin technologies are transforming industries characterized by high technical complexity and strict regulatory requirements — from nuclear energy to manufacturing. The projects were developed in partnership with NVIDIA.

One of the most notable projects is the platform developed for TerraPower, a company set to build the first next-generation sodium-cooled nuclear power plant in the United States by 2030. The solution, built using NVIDIA Omniverse, digitally models the construction site while taking into account spatial constraints, technical parameters, and terrain characteristics. This enables teams to test scenarios and identify potential conflicts before construction begins. In practice, the project helps reduce the site preparation phase from approximately 18 months to just eight weeks.

SoftServe is also applying digital twin technology in manufacturing and logistics. For Toyota Material Handling Europe, the company’s engineers simulated the operation of autonomous forklifts in virtual warehouse and factory environments, enabling the delivery of automation solutions that could be virtually tested before implementation.

Another example is Krones, the German manufacturer of packaging and bottling equipment for the food and beverage industry. For Krones, SoftServe created a highly accurate digital replica of the production process. Integrated with AI and cloud computing, the solution enabled more accurate forecasting, rapid scenario testing, and data-driven decision-making.

The partnership between SoftServe and NVIDIA, which began in 2020, has enabled SoftServe to deliver services to more than 1,000 customers using NVIDIA technologies. As an Elite Partner since 2022 and an NVIDIA Advanced Technology Partner, SoftServe teams have access to early versions of technologies, direct communication with NVIDIA engineers, and opportunities to test new tools ahead of their market launch.
