SoftServe Report: 80% of Employees Are Engaged in AI Learning Programs
SoftServe, a digital engineering and technology services company specializing in AI, Data and Cloud solutions, publishes the annual SoftServe University 2025* report, which documents how the company structures skills development at the organizational level.
The data shows that 80% of employees have been involved in programs dedicated to developing artificial intelligence skills, and one in four actively contributes as an internal educator. In Romania, the student engagement rate reached 94%, above the global average recorded by the company.
According to the report, last year more than 11,200 employees had at least one learning activity during the year, of which 7,922 participated in programs dedicated to AI, and 77% completed at least one course related to artificial intelligence. The average learning time recorded was 26.4 hours per year per active employee, with an average of 6.2 minutes of daily learning across the company.
“2025 was marked by an acceleration of change, with artificial intelligence becoming increasingly integrated into the business environment. In this context, investing in continuous learning is essential for professionals and companies to maintain their competitiveness”, said Dorina Itu, Learning & Development Manager CEE, SoftServe.
A distinctive element of the SoftServe learning ecosystem is the proportion of employees who actively contribute as in-house educators. The global community of educators included 2,618 people, representing 24.22% of the total employees (mentors, trainers, speakers, iTeachers, hosts and coaches). Almost 44% of managers actively participate as educators, and 471 fulfill the role of mentor.
Among the ways in which employees can share their knowledge are the peer learning platform The Talk, job shadowing programs or mentoring programs. The Talk delivered 74 sessions with the involvement of 2,114 employees and a repeat participation rate of 34%. The job shadowing program registered an increase of 27.5% compared to the previous year, with 51 active pairs, and the mentoring activity included 661 pairs and 236 new requests. Also, 36.52% of educators started a new role within the company in 2025, which confirms the link between contributing in the field of education and preparing to take on expanded responsibilities.
“When our people develop, our capacity expands and the ability to deliver value is strengthened,” says Paolo Emilio Testa, Chief People Officer SoftServe.
The company also supports the certification of employees in the business areas in focus. In 2025, according to the report, almost 1,200 certifications were obtained. In total, more than 3,000 professionals in the company are certified. Among the most popular certifications are AWS, Microsoft, and Google Cloud.
The report also documents the expansion of SoftServe’s academic ecosystem in seven countries: 96 partner universities, 29,883 students involved, 7 new university partnerships signed and 86 academic programs updated in line with business needs. Through the EDUPRO programme, 1,300 teachers from 21 countries participated in initiatives to modernise curricula and exchange knowledge between academia and industry.
