aSpace: Over 50% of entrepreneurs consider finding customers as the main challenge in business
• 40% of clients who use coworking spaces appreciate the networking and collaboration opportunities offered by these locations.
• Companies with headquarters, warehouses and production lines around Bucharest are becoming increasingly interested in having “satellite offices” in the center of the city.
Finding and retaining customers is the main business challenge for 52% of entrepreneurs, according to a survey conducted by aSpace, the most important Romanian-owned player in the coworking and all-inclusive office space segment in Romania, among its clients.
The survey also highlighted the growing interest of companies headquartered on the outskirts of the capital or in Ilfov to rent smaller office spaces in the center.
At the same time, 26% of respondents mention difficulties in time and resource management, including balancing multiple responsibilities and optimizing operations, while 19% face challenges related to business growth and scaling (sales acceleration, expansion, sustainable growth).
For 12% of entrepreneurs, infrastructure and logistics problems prevail (workspaces, equipment, networking), and 10% are affected by economic uncertainty and political changes.
“Our data confirms that Romanian entrepreneurs are resilient and adaptable, but they face real challenges in business development. Our role is to offer them not just a workspace, but an ecosystem that facilitates growth. Modern entrepreneurs are not just looking for an office, but an environment that accelerates their growth through valuable connections, quality infrastructure and flexibility,” said Bogdan Mariniuc, CEO of aSpace.
At the same time, more and more companies with headquarters in Ilfov or on the outskirts of Bucharest are considering opening secondary offices in central areas, such as Victoriei, for management or sales teams.
“We have had several discussions with companies based on the outskirts of the city or in Ilfov that want an office in the center as well. Calea Victoriei, where the newest offices we offer for rent are located, seems to be the best area for such satellite offices. We also have several factories located in Ilfov that are moving their sales office or top management to our spaces,” added Bogdan Mariniuc.
In the case of aSpace offices, the survey, conducted on a sample of about 50 entrepreneurs and companies from various industries (IT, consulting, real estate, marketing, retail), revealed that 40% of the company’s clients appreciate the networking and collaboration opportunities, 29% consider the infrastructure and services to be decisive for productivity, 17% emphasize flexibility and accessibility, and 14% note the impact of the professional atmosphere and community on business development.
aSpace currently has a 15% market share in the flex office market in Bucharest, manages six office spaces for rent and offers the best value for money for SMEs and start-ups. With the opening of its newest space in Bucharest, on Calea Victoriei 222, this fall, the company has consolidated its position on the market of coworking space operators in the Central Business District of the capital.
aSpace’s clients are generally start-ups, but also companies active for over a decade and come from various industries, namely IT & software development (33%), consulting (24%), real estate (14%), marketing & communication (12%), retail & e-commerce (10%), other industries (7%).
