Accenture supports the launch of the first digital platform dedicated to inclusion and accessibility for people with disabilities in Romania
Accenture Romania, a global professional services company, supports the official launch of the Accessible Romania platform (www.romania-accesibila.ro), developed by the CED Romania Association – Center for Excellence in Diversity. It is a project created to provide real support to people with disabilities and to help companies, institutions and organizations in Romania better understand what accessibility means and how they can contribute to a society in which all people have equal opportunities.
“We believe that every person deserves equal access to opportunities – whether we are talking about education, jobs or public services. By supporting the Accessible Romania platform, we want to provide communities and organizations in Romania with a useful tool, built together with those who live the realities of disability every day,” said Gina Sotir, Community Impact Lead, Accenture Romania.
Accessible Romania is a digital space where relevant information meets practical solutions. The platform offers:
• a database of suppliers that offer useful products and services for physical and digital accessibility.
• courses and training programs dedicated to professionals, institutions and companies who want to better understand what disability, accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities mean.
• resources, guides and good practices from Romania and internationally, which demonstrate the impact of accessible transformation.
• a calendar of accessible and inclusive events organized throughout the country.
Also, within the platform, the results of the first study in Romania that captures the needs and expectations of people with disabilities from a triple perspective are presented and analyzed: of people with disabilities, of their relatives, of people without disabilities, carried out as part of the national disability awareness campaign “A Family of Millions” carried out by CED Romania and Accenture Romania with the support of the European Accessibility Resource Centre AccessibleEU.
“Accessible Romania is more than a platform – it is a concrete step towards a society where all people have equal access to services, opportunities and spaces. We have created a collaborative, useful space anchored in the real needs of the community”, says Cristina Căluianu, founding member and Program Coordinator of the CED Romania Association.
The platform is free and open to everyone, people with disabilities, professionals from any field, organizations, institutions or companies who want to better understand how they can become more accessible.
