ANIS 2024 Scholarships: We are extending the application deadline until September 30, 2024. Record number of scholarships from the IT industry: university teachers can access 15 grants of 5,000 euros each
ANIS, the Employers’ Association of the Software and Services Industry, announces the extension of the deadline for registering projects for the seventh edition of the ANIS Scholarships program until September 30, 2024, inclusive. University assistants, lecturers and PhD students from any faculty in the country can apply to one of the 7 categories proposed in the program.
After evaluation, the winners will be rewarded for innovation in the teaching process with a grant worth 5,000 euros each. The winners of this edition will also receive free medical subscriptions from partner Regina Maria for a period of one year. The projects that will win the 15 scholarships will be announced during the “ANIS Scholarships 2024” Gala, which will take place on November 7 in Bucharest.
The program is aimed at university teachers from all over the country, who are up to 40 years old (turned in 2024), have introduced a new course/laboratory in the program or updated an existing one, using innovative teaching methods, based on new technologies.
All eligibility criteria can be consulted online. The 7 categories to which I can submit applications are: • Big Data – 2 scholarships • Cybersecurity – 3 scholarships • Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning – 2 scholarships • Internet of Things – one (1) scholarship • HealthTech – 2 grants • Cloud Computing – one (1) scholarship • Tech for All (the introduction of technology courses in non-IT faculties) – 4 scholarships 335,000 euros
The value of the scholarships awarded in the previous 6 editions In the last six years, through the ANIS Scholarships program, 67 teaching projects have benefited from sponsorships, which have obtained grants with a cumulative value of 335,000 euros. In total, in the previous editions, 211 projects were registered, coming from 51 faculties, from 14 university centers.
At the same time, the program generated several collaborations between companies and academia on R&D projects. The grants are supported every year by ANIS member companies. The evaluation process All projects will go through a preliminary evaluation process, based on the written application and a video clip in which the applicants will present the innovative elements of the course or laboratory. The four evaluation criteria are: the innovative character of the course/laboratory and its sustainability, the detailed structure that covers the objectives and subject matter of the course/laboratory, the method, which refers to the candidate’s profile and the use of innovative teaching methods, and the continuity of the program beyond the academic year current. In October, the finalists will hold an interview with the members of the evaluation committee, and in November, the grants for the selected projects, worth 5,000 euros each, will be awarded at the ANIS Scholarship Gala.
