Bucharest Tech Week: Over 30,000 visitors participated in this year’s edition
This year’s edition of Bucharest Tech Week, the largest technology and innovation festival in Central and Eastern Europe, attracted more than 30,000 technology, digitization and innovation enthusiasts.
Between June 10 and 16, the event brought together over 100 companies that presented the latest products and services, as well as over 110 local and international speakers, who brought to the public’s attention the newest trends and perspectives in the tech field.
As every year, Bucharest Tech Week was structured in two formats: Business Summits – a series of specialized conferences on various tech fields, which took place at NORD Events Center by Globalworth, respectively Tech Expo – the largest exhibition of technology and innovation for the general public, organized at Romexpo, Pavilion B1.
Worldwide speakers and innovative companies in the five days dedicated to Business Summits During the five days of Business Summits, numerous topics from the technological sphere and beyond were addressed, where international experts and professionals from various business fields shared valuable know-how with the participants.
Among them are: Dhiraj Mukherjee – co-founder of Shazam, Andrea Vena – Chief Climate and Sustainability Officer at the European Space Agency – Tey Bannerman, Partner at McKinsey & Company, Rhonda Fletcher–Leonetti – Global Leadership Experience Manager HP, Daniel Hiller – Senior Software Engineer OpenShift Virtualization at Red Hat, Emily Jiang – Java Champion and Liberty Cloud Native Architect at IBM and many others.
Also, representatives of top companies such as Orange Business, Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj, BCR, TikTok, Deloitte Technology Delivery Center, EPAM Romania, Up Romania, Worldpay, Google, Salesforce presented to the over 1,600 participants of the summit- business news in technological innovation artificial intelligence, human resources, software architecture and Java programming.
The official opening ceremony of Bucharest Tech Week had as special guests: Mircea Geoană, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Andrei Niculae – Vice President of the Authority for Digitization of Romania, Pavel Popescu – Vice President of ANCOM, Edward Crețescu – President of ANIS, Florin Popa – Director of Orange Business, Wolfgang Fuerst – Head of Mechanical Engineering Bosch and Jakub Olek – Head of Public Policy and Government Relations, Central & Eastern Europe TikTok.
More than 28,000 visitors explored the innovations presented at Tech Expo 2024
Tech Expo, the largest technology and innovation exhibition in Central and Eastern Europe, attracted 28,954 visitors, giving them the opportunity to discover and test state-of-the-art products and solutions such as: gadgets, robots, electric vehicles, smart home products, smartphones, laptops and top gaming solutions.
Among the renowned companies present at the Tech Expo were Samsung – which exhibited the wide range of Odyssey monitors and the new Odyssey OLED G6, offering an immersive visual experience and peak performance for gaming, LEGO – which brought the excitement of the digital universe to the world real, offering gaming and vehicle enthusiasts the opportunity to interact with impressive LEGO Technic sets, ASUS – which was present with its range of ASUS ExpertBook business laptops, equipped with the latest Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 or Elec processors – which came with innovative technologies from the automotive industry, presenting a unique experience for the time spent in the car. At the same time, other innovative products and solutions were brought to the Tech Expo by: BrainMap – which came up with qEEG (electroencephalographic mapping) technology that collects and processes data from over 80,000 brain points, providing accurate and deep analyzes of the functioning of the human brain, Orcam – which presented assistive reading devices for blind or visually impaired people, Shaw – with innovative pet care products, controlled directly from the app or Shape Robotics – which created an interactive laboratory, giving children the opportunity to learn and have fun at the same time.
Representatives of the authorities also participated in the official opening ceremony, such as – Eduard Mititelu, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Research, Ramona Moldovan – Deputy General Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Innovation and Digitization, Andrei Nicolae – Vice President of the Authority for Digitization of Romania, Florin Popa – Orange Business Director and Dan Cristea – Head of IT Digital Software, BCR.
