AFI Europe appoints Luciana Giurea, formerly General Manager of AFI Ploiesti, to lead the company’s residential development division in Romania
AFI Europe is pleased to announce the appointment of Luciana Giurea, former General Manager of the AFI Ploiești shopping center, as the Head of the Residential Division.
In this role, Luciana will oversee all residential real estate projects – for rent or sale –in Romania and will drive the development of this division within the company.
In the following period, her activity will focus on the first residential project exclusively for rent that the company is developing in Romania, AFI Home North, located on Dimitrie Pompeiu Boulevard, in the business district of the capital.
The residential complex will comprise 3 distinct buildings, offering a total of 380 apartments exclusively for rent and 400 parking spaces, covering an area of 10,200 square meters.
AFI Home North will provide quality finishes and amenities, with apartments delivered fully furnished to tenants. Additionally, residents will have access to a co-working space, social hub, and a fitness center.

Luciana Giurea, aged 36, holds a degree in Law, is fluent in English and Spanish, and previously pursued a career in journalism before joining the AFI Europe team in 2014.
In 2017, she transitioned to the role of Leasing Manager at the AFI Malls Romania division, overseeing the leasing process for commercial spaces in AFI Cotroceni, AFI Ploiești, and AFI Brașov. Luciana Giurea was then appointed General Manager of AFI Ploiești in May 2019.
In light of these changes, Sorin Scîntei, who serves as the General Manager of AFI Cotroceni, AFI Arad, and AFI City Bucureștii Noi, will now also assume leadership responsibilities at AFI Ploiești.

AFI Home North, the residential project developed for renting is perfectly tailored to fit the needs of people who want to have more flexibility, but, at the same time, access to a modern home with all the services, maintenance and facilities included in the project. Phase I of AFI Home North is now under development, targeted to deliver 164 apartments in 2 buildings in Q1 2025.
AFI LOFT is a boutique office building now under development on top of AFI Cotroceni shopping center measuring 16,000 sqm GLA. The tenants of the office building will enjoy the retail facilities of AFI Cotroceni and the easy connection to metro stations, buses, trams and trolleys. The project is targeted to obtain LEED “Platinum” green certification.
All AFI Europe office projects are certified LEED or BREEAM, respectively GREEN HOMES and WELL & Health. The entire portfolio is now under the process to be certified as LEED Zero Carbon until 2025.
The company’s development plans include building the Phase II of AFI Park Brasov offices, phase III of AFI Tech Park, extension of AFI Cotroceni shopping center with more offices, retail and residential components and other regional developments.
