91% of 200 European leaders, who recently participated in a survey carried out at European level by the HR consulting group Arthur Hunt and the Bona Fide company from France, believe that their organizations will go through moderate and major transformations until 2030*
Only 1% of them declared that they will not make any transformation within the companies they lead in the next six years. Faced with a dynamic and unpredictable economic environment, leaders are forced to adjust their organizational structure and business strategies, in order to strengthen their resilience in the face of current economic challenges.
The current changes refer to the optimization of internal processes to make resources more efficient and reduce costs, to investments in innovation to ensure stability in a volatile period, to increasing the focus on the customer and his needs, developing and strengthening strategic partnerships, or adapting to legislative changes (for example: sugar tax, constraints regarding the sustainable approach, etc.).
Moreover, some companies have strategically expanded or moved their production bases to other countries in order to remain competitive on the market. On the other hand, according to the same survey, the need for accelerated integration of technologies in organizations is the main concern for 84% of executives, while 80% consider that they will have challenges in relating to the new generations in the team, who no longer take long-term commitments and want more schedule and contract flexibility. In this context, large organizations invest in the training of future leaders and in their leadership skills, Arthur Hunt Romania specialists point out.
“The leaders of the future must first of all be agile, adapt easily to market challenges and lead in unpredictable environments. On the other hand, emotional intelligence is another essential skill for managers: they need to correctly understand and manage both their own emotions and those of those around them, especially when they have to make decisions or develop partnerships strategic. The development of emotional intelligence should be a priority for any leader at the moment. The right mindset can make the difference, in these uncertain times, between success and failure”, declares Sorin Roibu, Managing Partner of Arthur Hunt Romania.
According to a Harvard Business School study, in 4 out of 10 global companies, the main focus is on training managers to acquire skills that will enable them to manage future competitive and strategic challenges** represented by: globalization, risk management, lack of talent, responses to changes from the market or adapting to climate change.
