Baby Bounce Bucharest launches first audio English course aimed at the littlest Romanians!

Baby Bounce Bucharest, an expat-founded children’s singing group created to give local children an advantage in learning English, is releasing its first audio album dedicated specifically to teaching Romanian kids the language: Learn English with Baby Bounce!

The digital audio course, divided into child-appropriate sections such as Family, Food and Drink, Animals, Numbers, Colours, etc, comprises:

• 19 songs – including Baby Bounce favourites and brand new music
• 15 rhymes – classic children’s poems and original rhymes
• 370 words and phrases – spoken in British English with Romanian translations
• 75 minutes of learning with music performed by Emil Viciu of Sarmalele Reci, words by Debbie Stowe of Baby Bounce, and artwork by Eugenia Pupeza!

The album is the first digital album aimed at Romanian children entirely conceived and composed by a native English speaker. Suitable for children from 0-5 and even above, it is primarily intended for parents to play at home or in the car, although the songs and rhymes make it a good resource for early educators too.

Debbie Stowe, founder of Baby Bounce Bucharest, said, “With schools and kindergartens closed for months and face-to-face classes cancelled due to the pandemic, young children’s education has been severely disrupted. The digital audio album Learn English with Baby Bounce is ideally timed as children can acquire high-quality native English in the safety and comfort of their own homes, in the car, anywhere! While babies and toddlers can become familiar with British English sounds, attracted by the music and rhymes, preschoolers and even early school-age children can build their vocabulary and fine-tune their pronunciation – and with music arranged and performed by Emil Viciu of Sarmalele Reci, mums and dads can enjoy this album too!”

About the artists

 Debbie Stowe

Debbie is a British author, journalist, editor, English teacher, and now singer-songwriter. After graduating in English Literature and then Journalism (post-graduate) from the University of London, she moved to Bucharest in 2002. The author of over 20 books, including travel guides on the Maldives and India for Thomas Cook Publishing, and Culture Smart Romania, she has also worked with top companies, embassies and institutions in Bucharest including the British Council and UNICEF.

Emil Viciu

Emil is a guitarist, mandolin and ukulele player, singer-songwriter and music producer. He is lead guitarist and co-founder of iconic Romanian rock band Sarmalele Reci, and founder and lead singer of Castor 604.

Eugenia Pupeza

Eugenia is a brand and marketing specialist, graphic designer and musician. She holds a Master’s in Strategic Communication from Columbia University, a Music Therapy degree from Berklee College of Music, and is a Milan Conservatory of Music graduate. She also plays keyboard for rock band OM.

About Baby Bounce Bucharest

Baby Bounce is an early literacy and music programme, delivered in many English-speaking countries. Classes promote love of language and learning, focus and concentration, socialisation, and parent-child bonding. For non-native speakers, the programme also serves as an early introduction to English.

In the crucial development phase of newborn to toddler, children’s brains are in peak language-learning mode. The songs and rhymes of Baby Bounce help little ones learn English like a native speaker, developing enjoyment of the language, a natural approach to assimilating it, and greater confidence and fluency.

Debbie Stowe started Baby Bounce Bucharest in 2018 to offer local families the early-years activities she had enjoyed with her sons in the UK. She released the first Baby Bounce music album the same year. Classes began at Ludotech then moved to Mom O’Clock. Live sessions are currently being held in Herastrau Park.
