Ray Mauritsson, CEO of Axis Communications: We have all gone into this period with a balanced approach – taking care of each other and of our customers
According to a statement of the company, the current pandemic outbreak is continuing to affect many regions across the world, and restrictions on the movement of citizens in many countries generate uncertainty and affects global supply chains. Even though the situation remains uncertain, the last couple of weeks has been quite stable in terms of delivery times for Axis products.
“Axis primary focus in this situation continues to be the safety of our employees. As we become accustomed to the new situation, I am proud to see our organization finding ways of collaborating where we address a whole range of new challenges. Despite the uncertainties, we have all gone into this period with a balanced approach – taking care of each other and of our customers,” says Axis CEO Ray Mauritsson.
“Efforts such as rearranging transports, working with multiple suppliers and monitoring stock levels across Axis supply chain, have had positive effects. Axis distributors are in most cases operating at normal level and Axis configuration and logistics centers and manufacturing sites are working well. Also, being an important provider of products and services necessary to the operations and maintenance of essential infrastructure and governmental functions in many countries, several countries’ authorities have approved the continuing business of Axis and of its suppliers,: the CEO states.
According to the latest company’s yearly report on sustainability, the company highlights several directions to be focused on:
- Focus on cybersecurity
Cybersecurity and personal privacy go hand-inhand. Cybersecurity will become ever-more critical with the increasing use of advanced analytics and machine learning in connected devices. Protecting customer information and personal privacy has the highest priority at Axis and we continued putting much focus on this during the year.
- Responsible use of technology
The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning is generating many benefits and opening up amazing opportunities. At the same time, however, ethical principles and behavior must never be compromised. We only develop commercial offers for user scenarios we believe in and we always communicate clear intent with our innovations, solutions and offerings. The company provides training and knowledge-sharing opportunities for employees, distributors, partners and suppliers to ensure compliance and disseminate information on our attitudes and approach. This includes explaining the complexity of ethical aspects.
- Sustainability in the entire value chain
Sustainability is an integral part of our operations and it is essential to our continued growth and successful development. As the company grows, so does the importance of sustainability in that Axis will have a bigger impact on its stakeholders and must, accordingly, take greater responsibility.
The company applies a structured, focused approach for managing sustainability risks and raising awareness. It applies not only to our own organization, but also others in the value chain, such as our suppliers, distributors, partners and end customers. Our stakeholders appreciate and value that Axis actively pursues sustainability issues.
Axis became a signatory of the UN Global Compact in 2007 and it bases its sustainability work on those ten principles. Since then, the principles have guided us in how we work with sustainability. Axis supports the UN 2030 Agenda and actively strives to contribute to the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
