For the first time, Bucharest Tech Week debuts with Tech Expo – the B2C component of the festival, with free access for the general public, organized on the weekend of June 14–15 at Romexpo, Pavilion B1. Starting with June 16, the agenda continues with the five Business Summits, hosted at NORD Events Center by Globalworth and dedicated to technology and business professionals.
“Bucharest Tech Week is designed as a concrete meeting place between technology, business and people who innovate. We focus on relevant content, applicable solutions and interactions with real value for companies, professionals and the public interested in progress. By joining the interactive exhibition area with the series of specialized conferences, we offer both organizations and the general public access to ideas, tools and perspectives that support adaptation to the ongoing digital transformations”, said Alexandru Măxineanu, Managing Partner of Universum Expo.
This year’s edition of Bucharest Tech Week is supported by BCR, as Main Partner, which reinforces its commitment to digitalization and the integration of technology into accessible financial solutions, thus supporting the adaptation of the business environment and society to new technological transformations.
“Technological evolution and AI development is, at the same time, an accelerator and a test of patience. It’s not just about what AI can do now, but how we transform ourselves as individuals and as a country to integrate it sustainably in the long term. At BCR, we want visible results, but the most valuable transformations occur over time, and at Bucharest Tech Week it’s not just about robots and algorithms, but about how to prepare and better understand what will happen tomorrow. Technology truly comes to life when it makes complicated things seem simple. At Tech Expo we bring our 100% online, fast digital financing solutions for entrepreneurs, the George app – with over 300 functionalities – and a truck transformed into a bank branch, to show how innovation can go wherever it is needed”, Cătălin Lupoaie, BCR B2B Marketing Manager.
Tech Expo – June 14-15 – the largest B2C technology exhibition in Romania, at Romexpo, Pavilion B1
Tech Expo, the largest B2C technology event in Romania, is held on an area of 3,872 sqm and brings together 50 partners and over 1,400 products and solutions presented. Among the companies present are established brands from the automotive, tech, energy, urban mobility and smart home industries, along with start-ups and emerging solutions that shape the future.
The mobility area presents a variety of models from international manufacturers, including both electric and hybrid vehicles. Tesla will present the latest versions of its flagship models Model 3 and Model Y, Mercedes-Benz comes with the MG SL 63 Roadster, while Ford comes with the Puma Gen-E – the first 100% electric model produced in Romania – as well as the Mustang Mach-E, Capri and Kuga, which combine performance with technology. Alongside these, Hyundai comes with Kona Electric, Santa Fe and Inster, BYD with Seal U DM and Sealion 7, and Suzuki, Jeep and Lynk & Co complete the car area with hybrid and electrified options. For example, the Lynk & Co stand will have the 01 (Plug-in Hybrid) and 02 (Full Electric) models available, as well as information about the new model to be launched – Lynk & Co 08 – a plug-in hybrid SUV. DAB Auto also comes with BYD models: Fiat 600 MHEV, Alfa Romeo Junior MHEV, Hyundai Kona EV, Hyundai Inster EV, Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV, BYD Seal U DM-i and BYD Sealion 7. Honda brings the PCX125 and FORZA 125 scooters, as well as the CBR650R and Africa Twin motorcycles.
To complete the infrastructure, EV Spots presents a modern network of charging stations powered by renewable energy. In the same area, Areny Energie Alternativa offers an integrated perspective on the energy transition, through its three brands: EvShop – specialized in electrical conversions for vintage cars and DIY kits, Marny Energy – with industrial storage solutions and KitOffGrid – provider of complete photovoltaic systems for homes, small businesses and off-grid areas.
The area dedicated to smart home solutions brings to the forefront technologies that radically transform the modern home, offering added comfort, efficiency and autonomy. Dreame proposes a wide range of smart devices for the entire home, such as robot vacuum cleaners with mapping functions, high-performance hair dryers, air purifiers with radar sensor and lawn mower robots, all designed for a simplified life and adapted to real needs. TechCuisine Smarthome brings two of the most popular health tech devices of the moment: Withings BeamO – a 4-in-1 tool that combines quick diagnostic functions such as thermometer, ECG, pulse oximeter and digital stethoscope and Ultrahuman Ring Air – a titanium smart ring that monitors stress, sleep and metabolic activity in real time.
Vorwerk presents for the first time the Thermomix® TM7, a smart multi-functional cooking appliance, complemented by the Kobold VK7 cleaning systems and the VR7 autonomous vacuum cleaner, all connected and easy to use. Shaw contributes to this area with solutions dedicated to pet care, such as automatic litter boxes, feeders and app-controlled fountains, which bring added comfort to both owners and animals. During the event, they will also launch their latest innovation – a smart fountain with sensors and advanced monitoring functions via the app, which sends alerts regarding water level, filter or battery.
In the tech lifestyle, wellbeing and interactive education area, experiences are focused on innovations that support physical, mental and creative balance. For example, Epic Works presents Pulsetto, a vagus nerve stimulation device designed to combat stress and burnout and support a general sense of well-being, and Lifetoon brings an accessible digital storytelling platform where users can create personalized comics or animations, either for creative gifts or for brand campaigns. The educational dimension is covered by IRIS Robotics, which offers interactions with the humanoid robot Pepper and demonstrations with 3D printers, transforming technology into an active learning tool, and the locally developed Surubel app allows free collection of e-waste directly from the phone, promoting sustainable behavior and supporting urban reforestation initiatives.
The mobile & wearables area is represented by Motorola, which launched the flagship Razr 60 Ultra – a foldable phone with a sophisticated design, a 6.9” pOLED screen, a 144 Hz refresh rate and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, and Nothing comes with the latest devices in its ranges, including CMF by Nothing, emphasizing a fluid experience and minimalist design.
For gaming and virtual reality lovers, the experiences proposed by Romotion Simulator and Landgame are among the most spectacular in Romania. For example, the Monster Truck simulator offers an intense race with six synchronized seats and a 360° panoramic view, while Flying Beast amplifies the sensation of flight and speed with the help of a suspended console. In parallel, LandTech faithfully recreates the dynamics of F1 races and the technical challenges of the GT Cup.
At the same time, Bucharest Tech Week supports education through technology, local innovation and young people who build the future. Thus, eight robotics teams – BraveBots, Gamma by Sava, ILC Robotix, AstraDynamiX, Zenith Robotics Club, Soft Hoarders, Alpha Bit and ROBOSTEAM – have been selected to participate in the Tech Expo, where they will hold live demonstrations and present their created robots, offering visitors a genuine sample of applied ingenuity and passion.
