Ciprian Dan, Country Head, Wipro Romania: Our industry is the fifth largest contributor to the national GDP and Romania is the second preferred outsourcing destination in Europe

Leaders in business services industry gathered for sharing their latest insights on the evolution and shifts in their work and companies at the 11th Edition of THE ROMANIAN BUSINESS SERVICES FORUM & AWARDS.
In the discussion of the CEO Forum panel, Ciprian Dan, Country Head, Wipro Romania underlined the advantages of local market for business services industry and how to build the confidence sentiment of employees and companies in the changing work environment.
The economic headwinds are provoking uncertainties in many countries. When you look internally at one company, there are many ways and tools in place to measure things. We measure the sentiment and engagement of the people in the company twice a year, and based on those measurements, we are taking actions. Based on the company experience, we paid attention to what people are signaling internally regarding which are the critical points that demand improvements. Now, we are following up on those action plans to improve the employee sentiment, especially after the pandemics when everything changed in the workplace. The managers saw a transformation in their way of working and leadership, they adjusted to the remote work. The mid layers of managers had to adjust to the new reality of working.
Our industry is the fifth largest contributor to the national GDP and Romania is the second preferred outsourcing destination in Europe and there is why cost, proximity, skills remain local advantages. There are some aspects to rely on to maintain our position and even grow: the AI – and everyone in the industry should be familiarized with the new technologies. The second aspect for the industry to grow is the push to higher added-value services, which means moving away from transactional services to higher up in the value chain of services delivered to clients.
