Little London International Academy joins Romania Education Alliance, plans new campuses, and aims to grow to over 1,200 students

● Little London International Academy’s (LLIA) joining of Romania Education Alliance (REA), achieved through the transfer of a majority shareholding, marks a new stage in the school’s development. This includes expanding the existing campus in Voluntari (Ilfov), opening new locations, and increasing the student community from approximately 450 to over 1,200.
● Romania Education Alliance supports private schools nationwide in their expansion, modernization, and accreditation processes by providing access to financing, operational know-how, national and international best practices, cutting-edge educational resources, and continuous professional development for teachers. Investments exceeding €20 million are planned in the coming years to develop the network.
● Romania Education Alliance was founded in 2024 by Morphosis Capital along with Anca and Dan Macovei Vlăsceanu, based on a successful international educational model. REA’s vision is to build the first national private educational network, aiming to integrate more than 15 schools in Romania’s major cities over the coming years.
Little London International Academy (LLIA), a leading educational institution in Romania’s private education sector, has become the second private school, after Mark Twain International School, to join Romania Education Alliance (REA), the national platform for excellence in private education. LLIA’s joining REA through a majority share transfer marks a significant new chapter in the school’s history, involving expansion of the current campus in Voluntari (Ilfov), launching new locations, and increasing the student body from around 450 to over 1,200. The partnership represents a strategic advancement for LLIA, an institution with over 20 years of tradition, and supports REA’s objective to integrate over 15 schools in major Romanian cities in the coming years.

Established in 2024 by Anca and Dan Macovei Vlăsceanu—the founders of Mark Twain International School—and Morphosis Capital investment fund as the majority shareholder, REA operates as a supportive structure for prestigious private schools aiming to expand, modernize, and consolidate national and international accreditations. The platform offers its members access to funding, operational expertise, national and international best practices, state-of-the-art educational resources, and continuous training for teachers. Investments exceeding €20 million are planned for network development in the coming years.
“We are delighted to welcome Little London International Academy to the Romania Education Alliance. Their accession validates the potential of our vision: building a network of schools that not only excel individually but also collaborate to create a visibly positive impact on students, parents, and educators in their communities. Together, we aim to be a catalyst for the ongoing transformation of private education in Romania, offering a scalable, sustainable model anchored in global educational realities,” says Anca Macovei Vlăsceanu, co-founder and CEO of Romania Education Alliance & founder of Mark Twain International School.
Founded in 2003, Little London International Academy is an accredited school recognized for providing a complete educational cycle, from kindergarten through high school. It offers a national curriculum with extensive English language learning and an internationally accredited component for kindergarten and primary school (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme).
“This partnership allows us to further invest in the future of our students, providing them access to top-quality education that balances tradition with innovation. We remain committed to supporting the Romanian Baccalaureate while offering our students academic preparation enabling them to pursue their dreams globally,” says Luminița Macsim, founding member of Little London International Academy.
The partnership with REA is built upon shared values and aspirations among schools, but does not alter the academic structure or management team. LLIA retains its autonomy, current leadership, and its successful, student-centered educational model, which prepares graduates for successful admission into accredited university programs in Romania and abroad.
“Building on Morphosis Capital’s experience and proven track record in scaling successful entrepreneurial ventures, we aim to support Little London’s next phase of growth through the Romania Education Alliance. We have great confidence in the potential of the team led by Luminița, alongside Adriana Nicorici and Alexandra Toader. We strongly believe in their vision and the educational model they propose, and we are convinced that together we will transform Little London into a benchmark for educational excellence nationwide,” states David Masculic, CFA, Investment Manager at Morphosis Capital.
Schools joining REA become part of a connected and diverse educational network, where student-centered education is fundamental and the exchange of best practices is encouraged, while maintaining autonomy, organizational culture, and identity. The network promotes collaboration rather than uniformity, aiming to build a robust educational community with high values, ready to meet the current needs of students and families in Romania. Mark Twain International School was the first private school to join REA, establishing the foundation for this national platform in 2024. Under REA’s umbrella, Mark Twain International School initiated a comprehensive development process valued at approximately €30 million, targeting significant student growth by opening new campuses initially in Ilfov County and Bucharest.
