The largest edition of the Generația Tech program will kick off on August 14, taking place simultaneously across 8 counties, with 2,000 scholarships available
The national launch of the largest edition of the Generația Tech program will begin on August 14, offering 2,000 scholarships across the 8 participating counties.
Anyone aged at least 16 interested in developing digital skills in Web Development (beginner and advanced levels), Web Design, Java, JavaScript, Digital Marketing, and Project Management can apply for the Generația Tech program by August 5 here.
2,000 scholarships will be distributed in Arad, Brașov, Bistrița-Năsăud, Bacău, Constanța, Dolj, Neamț, and Suceava, ensuring free participation in the program through local municipalities and the business community support.
Generația Tech, developed by Digital Nation, transforms the way people learn by combining the power of community and technology. It provides a training and support framework where mentors, companies, and thousands of others prepare together for the future. The program caters to those exploring a career in technology and making initial steps in this direction, as well as individuals looking to change their professional path and pivot to this field. To date, Generația Tech has facilitated the free development of digital skills for over 9,000 Romanians aged 16 to 65.
Thanks to the skills acquired, participants can access remote jobs or paid internships at a higher level than the current offerings in small and medium-sized cities. By securing well-paid positions, young people contribute to the economic growth of their communities.
Vibes Fest, the starting point for the new edition of the program
The new edition of the Generația Tech program will launch on August 14 at Vibes Fest, a festival in its third edition. The event will offer a digital experience in Brașov’s Sfatului Square, allowing participants to meet their mentors and peers and enjoy many unique activities. Attending the Vibes Fest is optional and does not condition enrollment in the Generation Tech program.
As a community-based learning program, participants are referred to as explorers. From September to December 2024, they will attend personal development workshops led by trainers, experts, and program partners, where they will learn to create a professional brand and manage their emotions, aimed at helping them achieve their professional goals, whether it’s securing their first job, career change, or freelancing.
After the training period, an employability module will help explorers enhance their CVs and LinkedIn profiles and work on real projects with partner companies in January 2025. Additionally, they will have access to Digital Nation hubs located in Brașov and Piatra Neamț for meetings and networking events.
How will the first educational motivational AI assist the explorers?
This edition introduces the new version of Saro, the motivational AI developed in Romania with the support of Google.org. Saro’s role is to track the explorers’ performance, engage in conversations to learn about their goals and habits and provide personalized support.
“We are preparing for the largest edition of the program to date, with over 2,000 young people from across the country who will specialize in future-oriented fields alongside us. Additionally, with the support of Google.org, we will launch a new version of Saro, a copilot we have been developing for over two years, which will significantly enhance the efforts of the team managing the Generația Tech community. Specifically, Saro will engage in one-on-one conversations with each explorer on WhatsApp to provide personalized support: advice, encouragement, reminders, and more,” says Radu Filimon, Engagement Partner for Generația Tech.
Program partners include Google.org, Google Romania, Romgaz, Siemens Industry Software, Eviden, BearingPoint, Pentalog – a Globant Division, Bepco, Miele, and others. Partners like the Brașov Metropolitan Agency, the Brașov City Hall, and the Piatra Neamț City Hall have supported the national expansion of the program.
