About a month after the national electronic invoicing system e-Factura became mandatory, more than 1 million invoices have already been issued through SmartBill.
In total, the companies in the SmartBill ecosystem have so far issued approximately 4 million invoices to e-Invoice, 99.9% of which were validated by ANAF on the spot, without errors. Integration with e-Invoice is a facility offered by SmartBill for all companies enrolled in the ecosystem. Users also benefit from assistance in the platform for processes such as validation and compliance of issued documents.
By using SmartBill, Romanian entrepreneurs have access to a series of benefits specially adapted for the efficient management of the new fiscal framework. e-Invoice provides a legal framework for regulating the digitization of the business environment at the national level, at the same time accelerating the rate of expansion and bringing an important change for businesses in Romania.
Through the support it offers to entrepreneurs and the automatic integration with the e-Invoice system, SmartBill continues to contribute to the digitalization of the business environment by simplifying relationships between entrepreneurs, eliminating bureaucracy and manual work.
SmartBill – 41% increase in turnover in 2023, up to 8.7 million euros, before e-Invoice
SmartBill ended 2023 with a 41% increase compared to the previous year, exceeding 8.7 million euros in turnover. Moreover, the SmartBill ecosystem has also seen an expansion in the number of users, reaching 110,000 businesses enrolled in the platform.
For 2024, the company estimates a 60% increase in turnover and expects to exceed the threshold of 150,000 customers.
“For SmartBill, 2023 was a very good year, when we marked the integration of the facilities that we now offer for free to Romanian entrepreneurs who are part of our ecosystem. It was a year of growth, both in terms of financial results and the expansion of the number of clients who chose to use our services. That’s why we’re looking with confidence to 2024, when we’ve set out to continue strengthening the ecosystem and launch some new automations. Moreover, 2024 will be the year when we prepare SAF-T, which will become mandatory for all taxpayers from 2025 and we expect it to have at least as big an impact on the Romanian economy as e-Invoice,” said Radu Hasan, CEO and Co-Founder of SmartBill.
In 2023, Romanian entrepreneurs from the SmartBill platform issued over 60 million invoices, with a total value of 25 billion euros. For 2024, the company estimates an increase, so this amount will reach almost 40 billion euros and up to 90 million invoices will be issued.
