Total funding to date is nearly 2 billion US dllars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 2005, UiPath builds technology called Robotic Process Automation, or RPA. It involves systems that use AI to learn and then take over routine and mundane software processes and business workflows from human workers. The company reported more than $400 million in annual recurring revenue in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UiPath has a R&amp;D hub in Bellevue, Wash., nearby Microsoft\u2019s headquarters. Last year Microsoft&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geekwire.com\/2020\/microsoft-acquires-rpa-platform-softomotive-will-add-desktop-automation-tech-power-automate\/\">acquired<\/a>&nbsp;London-based Softomotive, a UiPath competitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alkeon Capital Management and Coatue led the Series F round. Previous investor Seattle-based Madrona Venture Group did not participate in this round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Madrona Managing Director S. \u201cSoma\u201d Somasegar, the former leader of Microsoft\u2019s Developer Division, joined the UiPath board in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Madrona is also a backer of Snowflake, a Silicon Valley-based cloud data warehousing computing company that had&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geekwire.com\/2020\/snowflake-stock-soars-largest-software-ipo-ever-madrona-among-earlier-venture-investors\/\">the largest software IPO ever<\/a>&nbsp;in September.
