China, right? That\u2019s it. So, thinking about that, our CEO had a vision one and a half years ago, and what she actually did, she started creating a great collaboration bridge with our colleagues from China. So, at this moment, that collaboration transformed into something great, transformed into stepping into that huge world that offers a lot of possibilities,\u201d <strong><em>Leonard Crisean, COO TP Romania said during Romanian Business Services Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest and Outsourcing Today.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key statements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>So, from that moment onwards, we started collaborating with a lot of Chinese clients, which, at this moment, stepping to the, how we call it in Teleperformance, the multilingual hub of Teleperformance, Romania is part of it. And what they want, besides what we discussed, so, really good, trained people, skilled, prepared to take over whatever they need, they want us to act really fast. I mean, Chinese style, Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee style.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>So, that&#8217;s what they want from us. If they want something implemented, they want it yesterday. And how can you cope with that? Of course, with AI.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>It would not change the world, but it can help with such a launch to become, let&#8217;s say, efficient and effective for both of us. For us and the Chinese clients. Taking over some of the small parts, which is administrative, and I&#8217;m being now totally realistic.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The administrative part, the coordination part, the easy tasks of, I don&#8217;t know, translation, a summarizing. That&#8217;s easy. That can be done.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>And I imagine everyone here saw it, implemented it at some point. And to be honest, it&#8217;s the realistic part of AI.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>I believe that also the legal part of what we have in Romania has adapted to the needs of the business services, the operations. It&#8217;s true that introducing Chinese clients culturally to Romania and to how we work, that&#8217;s another very difficult thing, which I believe the legal part, I mean the Government is not prepared for. And you wouldn&#8217;t get that kind of support from the government. To integrate such a culture into our culture and then deliver it.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>I would issue an invite to the local authorities and say, come over and see what BPO industry means, and then you will understand how much effort is put into it. It&#8217;s not only just put on a headset and you start working and calling. It&#8217;s a lot more than that. It&#8217;s about partnership and really close collaboration.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>AI has flooded everything. So, the market is flooded with AI. And I&#8217;ll be completely honest; it&#8217;s the same with our organization. So, we&#8217;re doing that for almost two years, talking only about different AI solutions. We are a huge organization, globally, half a million people, like a very small country. And what has been helpful from AI is that in countries with a massive workforce, like India, Egypt, or the Philippines, AI has stricken the gold path. So there, it worked perfectly. Not all the solutions, but let&#8217;s say the basic and medium ones.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>And now, coming back to Romania, what we&#8217;re doing and trying to achieve, here, training is the basis. But more than that, you must reassure people that their jobs will not be stolen by AI. That&#8217;s what they&#8217;re asking. Hey, you&#8217;re training me on AI, but you&#8217;re not telling me what&#8217;s happening next.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>So, what we&#8217;ve tried to do, as it was also brought into discussion, change management. That&#8217;s a huge change in management that we must put in place. So, we&#8217;ve done that at all levels, not only management, but also customer support level.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>And moved on to the next level, meaning training our people, not only in AI, but how to become better consultants. What are you doing as a human that cannot ever be taken by AI and stolen by AI? Which is empathy, decision making, and why not creativity?
