According to the study, the 29 companies included in the analysis collectively generated a total turnover of \u20ac82.7 million in 2024, a 36% increase compared to the previous year and a 143% increase compared to 2020. For 2025, KeysFin&#8217;s estimate indicates the possibility of surpassing the \u20ac95 million threshold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What the sector lacked, until now, was a physical anchor to match its ambition. That changes today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the three-year agreement, <strong>RoFintech&#8217;s official headquarters is now registered at Supertree Pipera<\/strong>, the most visible signal yet that Romanian fintech has found an institutional home. The partnership is structured around shared infrastructure, joint programming, and co-created initiatives across both organisations&#8217; networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key elements include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Official HQ registration<\/strong> \u2014 RoFintech formally registered at Supertree, Pipera, Bucharest.<\/li><li><strong>Event infrastructure<\/strong> \u2014 access to Supertree&#8217;s workspaces and event venues for member community programming, roundtables, regulatory forums, and networking events.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Member benefits<\/strong> \u2014 bespoke partner terms and business advisory support for RoFintech members and associates joining the Supertree ecosystem.<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Cross-network marketing<\/strong> \u2014 joint branding and communications initiatives across both organisations&#8217; media channels, events, and partner networks.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Preferential workspace access<\/strong> \u2014 preferential rates for RoFintech member companies establishing their base at Supertree.<br><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Seed of Romania&#8217;s Official FinTech Hub?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romania&#8217;s fintech sector is maturing faster than its regulatory environment. Turnover grew 21% in 2023, e-wallet transactions rose nearly 45% year-on-year, and the talent is demonstrably here. What remains unresolved, across Romania and much of Europe, is the structural infrastructure needed to let that momentum compound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RoFintech has been making that case at the highest levels. Earlier this month, the association secured a seat at the table during the official visit to Romania of <strong>Maria Lu\u00eds Albuquerque<\/strong>, European Commissioner for Financial Services, advocating on four fronts: stricter enforcement of PSD2, which remains inconsistently implemented despite being declared complete; the urgency of FIDA (Financial Data Access) as the next structural step in returning data ownership to customers; a unified EU Digital Identity Wallet to allow European fintechs to scale without rebuilding compliance in every market; and an end to the regulatory asymmetries that continue to disadvantage fintechs relative to incumbent institutions. The conversation, by RoFintech&#8217;s account, was encouraging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Against this backdrop, the Supertree partnership lands. London&#8217;s Level39, New York&#8217;s FinTech Innovation Lab, Singapore&#8217;s MAS FinTech Platform, Dubai&#8217;s DIFC Innovation Hub \u2014 the hubs that have genuinely shaped their national fintech ecosystems share a common architecture: physical space, peer community, regulatory proximity, and investor access, concentrated in a single address. Romania has none of that yet. Whether this partnership can be the foundation on which something comparable is built remains an open question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What it does immediately is give Romania&#8217;s fintech industry its first institutional address. RoFintech now has a home, while its members have a community to grow within. The conversation about what comes next has, at last, somewhere to happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Romania&#8217;s fintech ecosystem has the talent, the ambition, and the momentum.
