Drone Wall is built as a unified, integrable ecosystem designed to outperform fragmented solutions operating in silos.

All components operate on-edge, ensuring low latency and increased resilience. The system is continuously refined based on operational data and feedback from Ukraine to improve classification, prioritization, and intervention efficiency.

From operational validation to production readiness in Bucharest

Drone Wall is no longer a concept, but a capability validated in wartime conditions, based on assessments in scenarios relevant to modern air defense.

Building on these results, Qognifly is entering a phase of infrastructure and process consolidation, preparing a dedicated facility in Bucharest for pilot batch production and for standardizing integration and testing stages, without announcing mass production at this time.

Qognifly has already signed MoUs with three companies in Ukraine as part of its regional collaboration strategy.

The company already operates a dedicated European capability for UAV development and integration, with end-to-end control from aeronautical design and composite materials manufacturing to avionics, sensors, and mission software. This foundation enables process standardization, tooling preparation, and development of a European supply chain, supporting the transition from prototyping and pilot batches toward pre-industrialization in Romania.

Drone Wall: autonomous architecture, economic efficiency, and scalability

Drone Wall is an integrated counter-drone defense system based on ground radar, Air Defense Management System (ADMS) software, and a family of interceptors in three range classes, including a reusable air-to-air jet-powered variant.

The architecture integrates detection, tracking, target allocation, and interception command into an automated workflow, allowing integration within a network-centric warfare framework where sensors, effectors, and command units share the same operational picture.

The system is designed for full autonomous operation with a minimal number of operators. The interceptor is radar-guided and coordinated through the ADMS, enabling response to the current volume and complexity of threats without relying on a dedicated human pilot for each engagement.

Through this approach, Qognifly targets an approximate 1:20 cost ratio compared to missile-based solutions, offering a scalable option for protecting critical infrastructure and urban areas, with a focus on prevention and protection rather than escalation.

In certain configurations, the company uses established industry components where appropriate. Qognifly’s differentiator lies in its integrated architecture and proprietary layers (AI-driven autonomy, ADMS, radar–interceptor integration, safety and security layers).

This aligns with the company’s COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) philosophy, which reduces costs and shortens time-to-operationalization while improving interoperability through the use of standard interfaces.

In defense, the relevant criterion is not the “open-source” versus “proprietary” label, but interoperability with C2/ISR ecosystems, auditability (traceability, compliance, and verifiability), supply chain robustness, and system hardening for operation in contested environments. Qognifly applies these principles at the full-system level, with integration, testing, and configuration control processes ensuring performance and operational reliability.

Qognifly has held advanced discussions with several capital investors, including international ones, but has chosen to move forward with a local strategic partner. The funding round will be officially announced in the near future.

This financing will accelerate testing, completion of the jet interceptor, and preparation of industrial capabilities for Drone Wall, including development of video and radar processing algorithms, multi-drone coordination, interceptors reaching speeds of up to 500 km/h, as well as team expansion and production capacity growth.

Qognifly supports the Black Sea Defense initiative as a regional collaboration platform for integrating and industrializing defense capabilities in the Black Sea region — a step that externally validates the technology and opens the path to institutional clients within the EU and NATO amid accelerated investments in C-UAS systems.

The company adopts a responsible technology approach focused on protecting critical infrastructure, forces in the field, and civilian populations, in compliance with the safety, interoperability, and regulatory requirements of European and NATO partners. By developing and preparing the industrialization of C-UAS systems in Europe, Qognifly contributes to European technological sovereignty and supply chain security, with core values centered on engineering rigor, strategic autonomy, and responsibility in the design, testing, and deployment of technology.

About Qognifly

Qognifly is a Romanian deep-tech and air security company rooted in more than 15 years of innovation in unmanned aerial systems — from helicopters and heavy-lift multirotors to fixed-wing ISR platforms and target drones for air defense training.

The founding team combines expertise in EO/IR sensors, on-edge AI robotics, image processing and interpretation, radar sensors, and secure communications in GNSS-denied environments, with a strong aerospace engineering background and UAV operational experience in complex theaters across Europe, the Middle East, the United States, and Africa.

Qognifly’s portfolio includes the integrated Drone Wall counter-drone system, reusable interceptors, airborne sensor drones, and long-endurance ISR platforms used for surveillance, critical infrastructure protection, anti-hail operations, mapping, and emergency response.

All systems are developed, assembled, and tested in Europe, with a supply chain aligned to EU and NATO standards and the capability to move from 3D concept to first flight in approximately three months for dedicated UAV platforms.

Qognifly, a Romanian deep-tech company specialized in autonomous counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), announces its public launch and entry into a new consolidation stage for Drone Wall, an integrated detection, tracking, and interception architecture developed by Romanian engineers and validated in […]

[19,6,3,5,317
1279
