Most projects focused on artificial intelligence and machine learning (27 applications).

The Tech for All category – aimed at bringing technology to non-IT faculties – attracted 23 proposals. In addition, for the first time in the history of the program, the Quantum Computing category was introduced, and the first applications show the openness of the academic environment to emerging fields.

“The distribution of applications shows us the national dimension of the program and the high potential of the academic environment for integrating emerging technologies into education. Professors are the ones who give direction to universities, and without changes in curriculum and method we cannot recover the digital gap compared to the European average. ANIS scholarships are part of a broader effort to align with the pace of economic development, European policies and the objectives of the Digital Romania 2030 Manifesto, a direct investment in those who can bring innovation to the classrooms”, said Corina Vasile, ANIS Executive Director.

The program, now in its eighth edition, is aimed at lecturers, university assistants and doctoral students up to 40 years of age, who propose courses or laboratories integrated with emerging technologies and modern teaching methods. The evaluation of applications is carried out until October 24, based on four criteria – innovation, structure, method and continuity.

The best-rated projects will enter the interview stage, and the winners will be announced at the ANIS Scholarship Gala, on November 12, 2025, in Iași.

Over the past seven editions, 82 projects from 51 faculties (21 university centers) have been supported with grants totaling 410,000 euros.
