SYSTEMA\u2019s long-standing experience in working for semiconductor manufacturers and other high tech companies will bolster Accenture\u2019s capabilities to comprehensively support clients in these industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s society relies heavily on semiconductors for everything from smartphones to cars, and there is a strong commitment in Europe to strengthen the industry\u2019s manufacturing capabilities,\u201d said Christina Raab, market unit lead for Accenture in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. \u201cThe production of semiconductors is complex and highly specialized, and SYSTEMA\u2019s deep expertise in the industry will expand our capabilities and grow our business in ways we couldn\u2019t achieve organically.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite its advanced products, the semiconductor industry runs a significant amount of legacy equipment in the production process. Many steps, such as material flow and machine change-over, still aren\u2019t fully automated yet. This issue is particularly pronounced in Europe, where manufacturers need to optimize existing production facilities through automation to remain competitive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SYSTEMA\u2019s expertise includes deep knowledge in digitally connecting current and legacy production equipment and systems. The company excels at upgrading and extending traditional manufacturing execution systems (MES) with data analytics and optimization capabilities, which these systems often lack but are crucial to increasing output and optimizing cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are combining SYSTEMA\u2019s semiconductor and high tech industry experience and capabilities with Accenture\u2019s global network and ability to scale to offer services covering the whole value chain, from supply to logistics and manufacturing,\u201d said Sarat Maitin, who leads Accenture\u2019s practice for digital engineering and manufacturing and infrastructure and capital projects,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.accenture.com\/us-en\/services\/digital-engineering-manufacturing\">Industry X<\/a>, in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. \u201cOur ambition is to become a partner to the industry that helps clients in Germany and Europe secure competitiveness in a market increasingly under pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SYSTEMA has specialized skills in MES solutions from SAP (ME\/MII\/DM) and Critical Manufacturing. Beyond the semiconductor sector, the company works for clients in the aerospace and defense, medical, electronics, food &amp; beverage, automotive, machinery, metal and steel, and speciality chemicals industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SYSTEMA\u2019s team of more than 240 employees will join Accenture\u2019s Industry X practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manfred Austen, CEO of SYSTEMA, commented: \u201cWe have built long-standing, trusted relationships with our clients, guiding them through the ever-evolving technological landscape.
