ANIS scholarships gathered 35 innovative projects since launch

Employers' Association of the Software and Services Industry (ANIS) announced it registered 35 innovative projects within the first edition of its program called "ANIS' Scholarships".

The main objective of the program is to recognize teachers' efforts in updating the curriculum and bringing the latest technology to the attention of students. The tech industry initiative has attracted academics from IT and technical faculties across the country.

Developed in partnership with the academic community in Romania, the mission of the program was to support excellence in teaching, teaching and student research initiatives, thus encouraging the enthusiasm and performance of technology-savvy students and energizing the tech industry. In the medium and long term, "ANIS scholarships" aim to transform Romania into a technological innovation pole at European and global level.

Although at its first edition, the program enjoyed a great deal of interest among teachers, registering 35 applications validated under the eligibility conditions. According to the regulation, teachers must have at least a university degree of lecturer aged up to 40 years, projects show the introduction of new courses or at least 50 per cent updating of an existing course in areas of interest such as AI / Machine Learning, Big Data, Fintech, Cybersecurity and Healthtech and / or using innovative teaching methods. Launched in June through a fundraising campaign, the first edition of the ANIS Scholarship program is being carried out through the direct support of Atos, Adobe, Bitdefender, Softelligence, Cornerstone, Enea, with constant preoccupations for developing educational dialogue and supporting performance teachers.

"We are enjoying the increased interest in the ANIS Scholarship Program, developed in partnership with the academic community, which will reward the efforts and passion of young teachers to adopt the latest developments in the industry and intensify dialogue and partnerships between the tech and academia sectors. Our objective is to continue the program and develop it so that it becomes one of the pillars of collaboration between industry and academic community, and a joint effort to address the shortcomings of both sides, "said Florin Talpeş, leader of the" ANIS scholarships ".

Candidates have been registered since September, with the committee members evaluating the applications and designating the ten winning projects, which will be rewarded with prizes of 5,000 euros each. The Committee is made up of representatives of tech companies and academics with experience from the main university centers in Romania. Teacher award will take place at ANIS Gala on October 30, 2018.
