ABSL Cluj-Napoca Business Mixer 2018: Transformations, innovations and continuous improvements in the BPO space

ABSL organized the 3rd edition of Cluj-Napoca Business Mixer on February 27. More than 70 people coming from over 30 companies were present at the event, eager to learn more about the transformations, innovations and continuous improvements in the BPO space.

ACCA, COS, HAYS, JLL and KPMG, the Strategic Partners of the event, each of them experts in their field of activity, offered insights on how the trends in 2018 will affect the Outsourcing industry in Romania. Thus, we are witnessing new technology opportunities and the growing presence of automated systems in financial and accounting services, new recruitment models focused on Finding & Engaging candidates, as well as predicting the candidates' likely interest in a role. Another topic tackled was the impact of work-space types on employee satisfaction, retention, attraction and productivity. More than that, studies show that employee engagement positively correlates with Workplace satisfaction.

During the panel discussion themed "Fast-growing Cluj-Napoca: what next?", members from our community shared their opinion on the challenges in Cluj-Napoca regarding the outsourcing sector, talent pool, real estate and investments in the last months, as well as ways to move forward. With the city rising among other major cities in Romania, people also wanted to know what are the competitive advantages compared to other cities similar in size, which were the most innovative projects developed by companies and how do phenomenon registered on the Labor, Real Estate and other relevant sectors are correlated.

The event was concluded with a dynamic workshop, where participants with extensive expertise in various fields worked together in groups in order to identify challenges within the activity they perform in the business services sector, and proposed valuable solutions to help the industry move forward.
The main achievement was the teamwork demonstrated by the participants in formulating actionable solutions to help employees stay motivated and ahead of technological developments, and bring innovation into business models.

In the same time, the association announced the joining of P4Cards Bucharest (SIA Group) as the newest Core Member to ABSL. P4Cards is a company set up at the end of 2016, owned by SIA Group. The company operates in the Italian and German markets, offering processing services for issuing and acquiring of payment cards. The company also operates a call center in Romania.

P4Cards business forms part of the strategic plan of SIA Group which provides for consolidation of its competitive position at European level.
