ACADEMY+PLUS: The partnership with private sector enables the forming of IT specialists meeting market demands

ACADEMY + PLUS, the free programming school, officially opened its activity in Bucharest. The inauguration takes place in partnership with the private sector and aims to train 140 IT specialists within the framework of a practice-based and teamwork process in the next 6 to 9 months.

2017-12-18 10:40:56

"With the launch of the ACADEMY + PLUS programming school, we brought to Romania one of the most ambitious training projects and, based on a timetable adapted to the moment, we have relied on an alternative learning method that supports the increase of the quality of specialists in IT, "says Daniela Buşcan, Program Director at ACADEMY + PLUS. "Romania currently has a deficiency in the IT industry of over 50,000 specialists. By involving companies directly in the training process of IT professionals, we have the opportunity to reduce this deficit and to form future specialists in line with market requirements. In this way, we support the IT industry in Romania, and ACADEMY + PLUS graduates have the best chances to quickly find jobs in the IT industry."

Among the first partners of ACADEMY + PLUS are Societe Generale European Business Services, BNP Paribas Personal Finance Central Europe Technologies and Orange. "During the 6 to 9 months of the program, on average, companies support us with mentors who get involved with us to help the trainees be trained in the market. For example, the primary role of mentors is to help them advance as quickly as possible, but at the same time, another role is to present them the values of the companies they come from, the working methodology or the type of projects, " says Daniela Buscan.

In addition to ACADEMY + PLUS, the program also offers corporate training for employees who already have technology skills, but who want to learn a new one. In this respect, ACADEMY + PLUS provides staff and frameworks such as PHP / Symfony, Python / Django, Ruby / Rails, iOS / Swift, Android / Javascript. This training format, new to the Romanian market, involves 14-day intensive boot camp, where technology is learned through a practical project.

ACADEMY + PLUS is part of the international network of École 42 in Paris, one of the strongest training projects in the world, with centers in Paris, Kiev, Chisinau, Johannesburg and Fremont, Silicon Valley. In 2014, ACADEMY + PLUS opened a free programming school in Cluj-Napoca, Romania being the first country in the network to believe in the revolutionary school method in Paris. Since then, out of the 198 students trained in Cluj between 2014 and 2016, 110 have been absorbed by the market and hired by IT companies, either from the service area or from the product area. Most students in the program are 16 to 35 years old, most of whom are fresh graduates of BAC and students who want to increase their level of knowledge in the practical area.
