Accelerated growth on labour market in Romania in 2016, eJobs report states
Last year brought significant and accelerated increased on labour market in Romania, with 70 per cent more openings compared to 2015 and published by online platforms, according to eJobs Review&Trends report on 2016.
Local economy added over 170.000 employees during 2016 while the unemployment rate maintained under 5 per cent limit. According to Andrei Frunza, CEO of eJobs Group, "the growth trend is encouraging, directly linked to economy upward evolution, mirrored on the available new openings on the market. We have all the reasons to believe that this trend will also maintain in 2017, correlated to a GDP estimated around 4 per cent."
According to the study, the minimum monthly wage of a Romanian employee reached 925 lei in 2016, subjected to growth starting February 2017, while the average wage was over 2.060 lei, 13 per cent more compared to 2015. In 2017, the average revenues are estimated to increase with 100 lei, according to official data. The report also stated that Romanian expectations regarding their salary ranked between a minimum wage of 2.311 lei for women, 500 lei less compared to men' expectations. The largest wage expectations are reported in industries such as trade, management, design and consultancy.
The most dynamic employers where the demand for qualified workforce was higher registered in fields such as BPO, retail, IT and production, while the specialization most asked in 2016 were registered for sales, engineering, HR, digital marketing and financial.
Overall, in 2016, eJobs reported published over 420.000 job openings, 70 per cent more compared to previous year, while candidate mostly looked for jobs in industries such as IT, finances, sales and HR.
