Digitaljob.ro: Romanian software, online and mobile industries, top employers

The main industries that are specialists seekers in Romania are the software, online and mobile and also the advertising, according to Digitaljob.ro, one of the niche recruitment platforms dedicated exclusively to digital and IT industry.

2015-12-16 10:51:59 - by Bogdan Tudorache

Most job offers in these industries, of over 90%, are for senior programmers and designers, Bucharest and Iasi being the cities with the most jobs available.

According to Digitaljob.ro, the highest demand comes from the software industry, as software is required by any other industries. The top is complemented by offers from online and mobile advertising and gaming. The first three industries are similar and intertwined, having a solid application, almost always, with the online and mobile segments.

In terms of gaming offers, most offers come during the spring-summer when the season progresses with massive employment.

Of the total number of jobs available in companies operating in these industries, most offers are for programmers (65%) and designers (30%), while the demand for marketing specialists is of 5%. Generally, employers are looking for candidates with experience, and only 3% of jobs are for positions of juniors.

"The largest share have programmers who are responsible for implementing and developing ideas that underpin all applications. Specialists who develop mobile applications are fewer and harder to find, so the demand is as. Designers and people communication completes the trio of the most sought after jobs in the digital domain," said Marius Dascalu, Strategy and Creative Director of 2Fresh, the agency that developed the platform Digitaljob.ro.

Regarding the city distribution for digital specialists, added Marius Dascalu, Bucharest gets first place, 56% of the offers coming from the Capital. The following positions are taken by Iasi (12%), Cluj-Napoca (6%), Timisoara (4%) and Brasov (3%). Externally, most job offers for specialists in Romania come from Germany, Netherlands, France, UAE, USA and Luxembourg.

The biggest demand is for front-end and back-end developers. Depending on the specialization, web developers who apply for positions back-end developer must have extensive knowledge of PHP, mySQL and frameworks like Zend, Laravel, Magento and Wordpress, while skills required for front-end developers are the HTML, CSS, Javascript and knowledge frameworks such as Bootstrat and AngularJS.

For designers and marketers specialized graduated studies are not compulsory. Creative skills and knowledge can be quantified by analyzing portfolios, concluded Marius Dascalu.
