Romanian North-East BPS and IT will grow 10% annually by 2030

Romania's North-East business process services (BPS) and the IT sector will grow about 10% each year, from 8,000 employees today to 30,000 employees in 2030, says a study by API (Aceess Process Investment) for Euronest. Iasi is the largest city, with 6,000 employees in 40 office buildings.

"The graduates pipeline will increase from 1,500 to 2,500 annually, and the region will become an active ITC pole for relevant cities (Iasi, Galati, Bacau and Suceava-e.n.). Also, more graduates will be taken over by the system from Cernauti, Odessa, Balti and Chisinev," says the study.

As shown by the graphs, the employment in the North East Romania will grow from 8,000 this year to 11,000 next year, 14,000 in 2017, to reach at least 33,000 in 2030.

As the BPO and SSC segments grow, and the office segment, especially in Iasi, can take over the western companies expansion, as it is supplied with about 150,000 sqm of office space, only second to Bucharest, according to JLL.

The overall 2014 number of graduates was of 55,000 in Iasi, 14,700 in Galati, 8,500 in Suceava and 5,600 in Bacau, the study reveals.
